As he sleeps and I lay by his side,
I gently run my fingers through his hair,
Concentrating on the curve of his lips
And the soft sound of his breathing.
Feeling the warmth of his body held close,
I'll run my hands over his broad shoulders,
Where I've found comfort many-a-time
And an unbending support.

As he sleeps, I study his face;
Eyelids hiding a deep, warm mahogany.
His eyes see straight through me,
Penetrating, right to my soul,
No matter how hard I try to hide myself.
His full lips hide a smile that
Really does make my heart melt,
That is, if it doesn't stop for a few seconds
When he has his gaze set on me.

And as he sleeps, I think to myself...
I know that he doesn't fully realize yet
That he's become a permanent part of my life.
And I realize that, somehow, at some point,
This young man had thrown me into his oceans,
Where I now am completely engulfed,
Lost among the waves of his essence,
And I do not wish to be pulled from the water.

I lean closer and whisper into his ear
Three words that I couldn't mean more,
And with one more glance at his peaceful face,
I curl into his arms and close my eyes...
And as I sleep, I feel the tickle of his breath,
As he brushes back my hair and whispers
Just three words
That mean the world.

Yes, yes, yes. This is mushy, I know, but please bear with me. Plus it'll be one year on January 28^th, so I am going to be in a mushy-cutesy-lovey-dovey mood for a little while just because I can be...Yeah...
